Rhoda’s Fund was established to help low-income households pay to spay/neuter their cats while Papa’s Pups is a fund established to help low-income households pay to spay/neuter their dogs.

Spay is the medical term for ‘fixing’ a female animal while Neuter is the medical term for ‘fixing’ a male animal.

Since the fund is for low-income households, income is a big consideration. The number of family members, other pets, and any extenuating circumstances are also considered. During cold weather, preference is given to those with indoor animals.

An HSoMC volunteer will contact you to notify if you qualify or not.

There are limited days when the clinic operates during the week.  You will be contacted and scheduled based on the availability of the schedule and the veterinarians used by HSoMC.

When the fund is low and dollars are limited, we can have the biggest impact on animal over-population by spaying female animals.

Yes.  The incision has to be kept dry for at least a week. The animal’s activity should be restricted for the first week so that healing can begin.  A list of instructions will be given to you when you pick up your pet.

The animals are anesthetized for the surgery and an additional injection for pain control is given that will last for 1-2 days after surgery.
