FAQs
Where is the Humane Society of Midland County?
Currently, there is no facility or office that we operate out of. We utilize Midland Animal Control as strictly volunteers to walk dogs, clean cages etc., We are often confused with Midland Animal Control (commonly referred to as MAC) as being of the same affiliation, or that we are county employees—but we are not.

It’s one of our utmost goals to obtain a home for our organization— contributions, membership and help from the community are all necessary for it to become a reality. Please contact us or donate if you would like to help!
I am interested in adopting an animal from the Humane Society. What is involved?
First you must fill out an adoption application and specify which animal you are applying for. Shortly thereafter an HSoMC representative will contact you for a home check and veterinarian check (if you have other animals). It’s required that our animals are spayed or neutered before release for adoption.
I have a pet I can no longer care for. Can you find a home for it?
In most cases we do not have the means to take in your pet, but when possible we will find a potential adopter and/or post a courtesy listing on Petfinder.
I cannot afford the surgery to spay/neuter my pet. Can you help me?
Currently, we do not have a program in place to do this. SOS Animal Rescue however does sponsor a spay/neuter program and helps low/no income/elderly with the cost of the surgery.
I’m having financial problems and could use assistance with getting food for my pet. Can you help me with that?
The Humane Society of Midland County has a service called the Pet Pantry. Contact us if you are currently in need feeding your pet.
